About Me

Hi, I’m Archana, a creative artist from Switzerland. Through dance, painting, and calligraphy, I express my inner world, shaped by my deep love for Tamil, my mother tongue, and Japanese traditions.

In early 2021, I made a conscious decision to finally give my creative path the attention and intention it had always longed for. These passions had always been part of me, deeply meaningful expressions of who I am. Over time, I began to nurture them fully and shape my life around what felt truly aligned. That’s when I began living my ikigai, a Japanese concept that means finding purpose and joy through what you love.

Dance has been with me since my childhood. I started Bharatanatyam when I was around 3 or 4 and continued for 10 years. It taught me discipline and grace. Later, I got into hip-hop and danced for about 6 years. In 2016, I took open classes at Broadway Dance Center in New York, which opened me up to new style such as popping. Dance has always been my way of expressing what I feel, without needing to say anything.

Painting began in school, especially during an elective subject called Bildnerisches Gestalten during 8th grade. I remember painting a big strawberry cake on canvas, and in a small exhibition, it was one of the few that got sold. That little moment stayed with me. Over the years, painting grew into something deeper, a way to explore feelings, memories, and stories that are hard to put into words.

Calligraphy found me during my travels in Japan. I was drawn to the calm, the precision, and the quiet beauty of each brushstroke. Inspired by both Tamil and Japanese scripts, I started practicing slowly.

Each creation, whether danced, painted, or written, carries a part of me. It’s all part of the path I’m on.

This website is just the beginning of my ideas. It will unfold, step by step, with all the creative visions I’ve carried since 2021.

Thank you for being here and for being part of this journey.
